
Kauaʻi Police Department advises the public about temporary road closures scheduled this weekend in Kalāheo for the Kalāheo Guava Country Celebration Parade, hosted by Hālau Ka Lei Mokihana o Leināʻala.
Closures are slated for 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 31, on the following roads:
- Hokua Road (from Kaumualiʻi Highway to Puʻu Road).
- Puʻu Road (from Hokua Road to Papalina Road).
- Papalina Road (from Puʻu Road to Kaumualiʻi Highway).
Police also advise that motorists should expect delays and drive with caution while the closures are in effect.
Stay after the parade and find a ton of fun in the heart of Kalāheo while honoring Hālau Ka Lei Mokihana o Leināʻala and its new Miss Aloha Hula Jelacia Naomi Waiauokalaniākea Peralta, who placed fifth in this year’s prestigious individual wāhine competition of the 63rd annual Merrie Monarch Festival at the beginning of April in Hilo on the Big Island.
The celebration starts at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
