Motorists traveling through Kīlauea should expect temporary lane closures along Koʻolau Road as crews conduct road repaving work, according to county officials.

The Kauaʻi Department of Public Works and contractor Maui Kupono Builders announced that single-lane closures will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and remain in effect through June 6.

Officials said the closures are necessary to complete roadway resurfacing improvements in the area. All work is weather permitting.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes when possible, and allow extra travel time. Flaggers will also be stationed throughout the work zone to help direct traffic safely through the area.

For further information, the public may contact Maui Kupono Builders at 808-369-1800 or Todd Ozaki at 808-241-4845.
