A high surf advisory was issued for east-facing shores of the Hawaiian Islands until 6 p.m. on Friday.

According to the National Weather Service in Honolulu, trade winds near and upstream of the state are generating surf above advisory levels along all exposed east-facing shores, with waves expected to reach 7 to 10 feet.

Impacts are expected to be moderate with strong-breaking waves and currents that will make swimming dangerous.
