UPDATE: Kapaʻa pool has reopened after repairs

Update at 8 a.m. Thursday, May 14: The Department of Parks and Recreation completed repairs to the Kapa‘a Swimming Pool, which reopens today (May 14) during regular business hours.

The pool is open every week from 10:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Wednesday to Friday, and 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The pool is closed Sunday and Monday.

Original story at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 12: The Kapa’a Swimming Pool will be closed beginning May 13 due to a mechanical issue and will remain closed until repairs are completed, Kaua’i County officials announced Tuesday.

The county Department of Parks and Recreation said the closure will take effect on Wednesday and continue until further notice while crews work to fix the problem.

The Waimea swimming pool will continue operating on its normal schedule during the closure, according to the department.

County officials said efforts are underway to restore operations at the Kapa’a facility as quickly as possible and thanked residents for their patience.
