Single-lane closures along various sections of Ala Kinoiki are being extended through May 22, according to the Kauaʻi Department of Public Works and Cutting-Edge Land Clearing Solutions that is doing the work.
The closures will be in effect daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow crews to continue tree-trimming operations along the roadway. The work is intended to improve safety for both workers and motorists.
Drivers are advised to plan for delays, use alternate routes when possible, and allow extra travel time.
Flaggers will be stationed in the work zone to help direct traffic. The lane restrictions were previously scheduled for April 22 through May 1.
