The National Association of Letter Carriers will hold its 33rd annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 9, in partnership with Hawaiʻi Foodbank, Hawaiʻi Foodbank Kauaʻi and The Food Basket on Hawaiʻi Island.

As the nation’s largest one-day food drive, Stamp Out Hunger offers a simple way for Hawaiʻi residents to make a meaningful difference, according to a news release from the Hawai‘i Food Bank.

“This annual food drive is a powerful example of what our community can accomplish when we come together,” said Amy Miller, President and CEO of Hawaiʻi Foodbank. “With so many local families and neighbors struggling to make ends meet, every donation helps ensure our neighbors have access to the food they need.”

Community members can participate by leaving non-perishable food donations next to their mailbox before mail delivery on May 9. Blue bags will be dropped in mailboxes for easy collection. Letter carriers will collect the donations along their routes and deliver them to the Hawaiʻi Foodbank.

Donations support food banks across the state, helping to provide meals for the one in three Hawaiʻi families who don’t know daily where their next meal will come from.

Those who prefer to give financially can make a secure online donation at: hawaiifoodbank.org/campaign/nalc.
