The Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency will transition to a new emergency mass notification system beginning Tuesday, May 5, county officials announced.

The agency said Everbridge has been selected as the county’s new provider, replacing Inspiron, which previously handled alerts and communications.

Elton Ushio, administrator of the Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency, said the decision was made by a county committee with experience in disaster and emergency response.

He thanked Inspiron for its years of service supporting the island’s emergency communications. Officials said existing opt-in notification data from the current system will be transferred to the new platform when possible.

The updated system also will include Everbridge’s Resident Connect database, designed to broaden outreach by incorporating additional on-island contact information beyond traditional sign-up lists.

Residents can register for alerts through the county’s Everbridge Resident Portal or by contacting the Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency at 808-241-1800 or email: kema@kauai.gov.
