20 lane closures scheduled during week of April 25-May 1 on Kaua‘i state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 20 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Kaua‘i state roadways during the week of April 18-24.

HIGHWAY 50

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 2.9 to 8.5 in the vicinity of Kipu Road and Maha Road, on Sunday, April 26 to Friday, May 1 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for installing rumble strips on the edges and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KALĀHEO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 11 to 11.3 in the vicinity of Lauoho Road and Hokua Road, on Monday, April 27 to Tuesday, April 28 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for emergency guardrail repair.

KALĀHEO TO ‘ELE‘ELE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 13 to 14.9 in the vicinity of Laulea Street, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting the grass.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, near mile post 0.8 in the vicinity of Lala Road and Kapule HIghjway, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for applying sealant on the roadway. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

LĪHU‘E

  • CENTER LANE CLOSURE, between mile post 0.1 to 0.3, in the vicinity of Hardy Street and Ahukini Road nightly on Sunday, April 26 to Friday, May 1 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for waterline replacement. No left turns will be allowed through the work area. Details:
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction between mile post 3.8 to 4.2, in the vicinity of Wailua Golf Course, on Tuesday, April 28 and Thursday, April 30 from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for replacing raised pavement markers..
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction between mile post 4 to 5, in the vicinity of Wailua Golf Course, on Saturday, April 25 from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for cutting the grass.

WAILUĀ

  • TWO LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction between mile post 5.7 to 5.9, in the vicinity of Wailuā State Park Road and Kuamoo Road, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for concrete work on the Wailuā mauka bridge. Traffic routed to the Wailuā Plantation Bridge.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 9 to 9.8, in the vicinity of Kawaihau Road and Mailihuna Road, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for guardrail installation.

  • LANE SHIFT possible in either direction, between mile post 24.4 to 28, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, on Sunday, April 26 to Friday, May 1 from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for striping.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 25 to 28, in the vicinity of Ka Haku Road, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for striping.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction, between mile post 2.8 to 3.3, in the vicinity of Malolo Road and Anae Road, on Tuesday, April 28 to Friday, May 1 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving work. Traffic will be detoured to Weke Road via Malolo Road.

HANALEI TO WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 3.3 to 4.1, in the vicinity of Waikoko bridge and Anae Road, on Sunday, April 26 to Tuesday, April 28 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the eastbound direction near mile post 1.9 in the vicinity of Kukui Grove Street on, Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for sewer line installation. Right turn pocket heading eastbound on Kaumualii Highway will be closed and the shoulder eastbound on Kaumualii Highway after the turn pocket will be closed.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile post 0.1 to 3.2, in the vicinity of Huakai Road on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for pavement marker and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 0.7 to 1.3, in the vicinity of Maule Road and Panini Place on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for maintaining the firebreak.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 4.6 to 11.5, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 580

WAILUĀ HOMESTEADS

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile post 1.6 to 1.9, in the vicinity of Kahawai Place on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for installation of a chain link fence. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 5600

WAILUĀ TO KAPAʻA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile post 0.8 to 3, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway (Wailuā) to Olohena Road (Kapaʻa) on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.
