Healing Horses Kauaʻi is inviting children to take part in its 2026 Summer Horsemanship and Riding Camps, offering hands-on instruction in horseback riding, animal care and life skills.
The weeklong sessions are scheduled to run from June 8-12 and July 20-24, from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is open to children ages 4 to 14.
Camp activities this summer break will include basic riding lessons, grooming and horse care, as well as games and arts and crafts to build confidence, responsibility and teamwork.
Founder Karin Stoll said the program is designed to give keiki meaningful interaction with horses while fostering communication and creativity in a supportive outdoor setting.
“We are loving our ‘Tie Dye Fridays,'” Stoll said. “We are also welcoming some new teachers this summer for the arts and crafts section.”
The program also comes at a critical time for the nonprofit, which recently took in two donated horses, Ehjo and Angel, both of whom require ongoing medical care and additional training to become part of the program.
“Our goal remains the same, and that is to give kids the gift of enjoyment, empowerment and education,” Stoll said. “Working with horses helps children build confidence, develop patience and learn responsibility in a supportive environment.”
Participants will learn to groom and care for horses, practice basic riding skills, and take part in group activities to strengthen teamwork and communication skills. Families are asked to send children with lunch, water, sunscreen, long pants and a hat.

The Horsemanship and Riding Camps help support the broader mission of Healing Horses Kauaʻi, which provides equine-assisted learning and therapeutic experiences for youth and community members across the island.
