The nation’s top mini-golf players are coming to Kauaʻi’s North Shore for the 28th annual U.S. Open next month.
Every year, the U.S. Open for mini-golf is held for amateur to professional-level players, and Hawaiʻi mini-golfers are encouraged to enter the competition.
The Professional Mini-Golf Association (PMGA) is hosting the U.S. Open at Anaina Hou Community Park in Kauaʻi on May 15 and 16, marking the first time it will take place in Hawaiʻi.
For the U.S. Open, groups of five players are paired randomly, with the lowest scores advancing through the second and final rounds. The specific flow of play will be determined by the number of registrants and will be finalized closer to the tournament day.
The event also serves as a fundraiser, supporting course improvements and expanding youth internship programs, which helps strengthen access, opportunity, and long-term sustainability for the mini-golf community.
On Friday, May 15, the Pro-Am Tournament will allow businesses and local clubs to pair with a professional player to raise money for charity. The U.S. Open will follow on Saturday, May 16.
On Sunday, May 17, there will be an awards ceremony and small luncheon at the Porter Pavilion in the early afternoon to recognize the players and sponsors.
