Kaua‘i Fire Department personnel extinguished a structure fire late Saturday evening in Kapa‘a.
No injuries were reported; all occupants were accounted.

Firefighters were dispatched shortly after 11 p.m. April 11 to a reported structure fire on Kualono Street. Crews discovered upon arriving at just before 11:30 p.m. that a single-family residence was actively ablaze.
Personnel with Kapa‘a and Kaiākea fire stations, Kaua‘i Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau, the on-duty battalion chief, Kaua‘i Police Department, Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative and American Medical Response responded to the incident.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control by about 11:25 p.m. Crews remained on scene to conduct overhaul operations and ensure there was no extension of the fire.
The fire was contained to the single-family residence where it originated. Damages to the structure and its contents are estimated at $479,000.
Its cause is considered unintentional and remains under investigation by Fire Prevention Bureau personnel.
The scene was cleared at about 2 a.m. Sunday, April 12.
