A community meeting about the proposed water rate increase on Kauaʻi has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 15, at the Kōloa Neighborhood Center.
The original meeting had been canceled due to severe weather, the Kauaʻi Department of Water said.
The meeting, which runs from 5 to 7 p.m., is the final in a series of five public sessions focused on proposed rate increase increases. It will include a presentation on findings from a recent water system evaluation and rate study, followed by a question and answer discussion.
Residents from South Kauaʻi communities — including Kalāheo, Lāwa‘i, ʻŌmaʻo, Kōloa and Poʻipū — are especially encouraged to attend, though all customers are welcome.
The department said it is seeking public input as part of its planning process and will offer water conservation-themed materials at the event.
Officials also said accommodations are available for those needing assistance to participate, with advance requests encouraged.
