14 lane closures scheduled during week of April 4-10 on Kaua‘i state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 14 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Kaua‘i state roadways during the week of April 4-10.

HIGHWAY 50

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.9 and 8.5 in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and Maha Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 5-10 for rumble strips installation on edges and striping.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.1 and 0.7 in the vicinity of Lālā Road and Mōkoi Street, from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 6-7 raised crosswalks installation.

HIGHWAYS 56/560

LĪHU‘E

  • CENTER LANE CLOSURE in both directions, between mile posts 0.1 and 0.3 in the vicinity of Hardy Street and Ahukini Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 5-10 for waterline replacement. No left turns will be allowed through the work area.

LĪHU‘E TO WAILUĀ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction, between mile posts 3.7 and 6 in the vicinity of Kaua‘i Beach Road and Kuamoʻo Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. April 6, 8 and 10 for cutting grass and patching holes.

WAILUĀ

  • FULL CLOSURE in the southbound direction on Wailuā Mauka Bridge, between mile posts 5.7 and 5.9 in the vicinity of Wailuā Marina Road and Kuamoʻo Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 6-10 for concrete work on the Wailuā Mauka Bridge. Traffic will be routed to the Wailuā Plantation Bridge.

KAPAʻA TO KEĀLIA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 9.5 and 10.5 in the vicinity of Kāmole Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 6-10 for cutting grass.

KĪLAUEA TO PRINCEVILLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 23 and 26 in the vicinity of Kolo Road to ʻAnini Vista Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 6-10 for cutting grass.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

  • LANE SHIFT possible in either direction, between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1 in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. April 5-9 for striping.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

  • FULL CLOSURE in both directions, between mile posts 0.3 and 1.2 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ʻŌhiki Road, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 6-8 for paving at the approach to Hanalei bridge.

WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 3.9 and 4.1 in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Waipā Bridge, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 8-10 for paving work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 58

PUA LOKE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the eastbound direction near mile post 1.9, in the vicinity of Kukui Grove Street, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 6-10 for sewer line installation. Right turn pocket heading eastbound on Kaumualiʻi Highway will be closed and the shoulder eastbound on Kaumualiʻi Highway after the turn pocket will be closed.

HIGHWAY 540

NUMILA TO ‘ELE‘ELE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.1 and 3.7 in the vicinity of McBride New Mill Road and A Iluna Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 6-10 for firebreak work.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.1 and 3.2 in the vicinity of Huakaʻi Road, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 6-10 for pavement marker and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 6-10 for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
