Kaua‘i Police Department named Support Services Contracts Specialist Bureau Desiree Wakuta-Matsuda as its Employee of the Month for March.

She received the award for her expertise, diligence and attention to detail, all of which are instrumental in supporting operations and enabling projects to move forward smoothly.

Wakuta-Matsuda oversees contracts that allow Kaua‘i Police Department purchase equipment, services and resources officers rely on to maintain public safety around the Garden Isle.

Her strong working relationships with other county agencies help streamline complex processes, saving time and ensuring delivery of critical resources when needed. She handled a high volume of contracts with efficiency and composure even during the demanding fiscal year closing period.

She was formally awarded during the March 27 meeting of Kaua‘i Police Commission.
