14 lane closures scheduled during week of March 28-April 3 on Kaua‘i state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 14 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Kaua‘i state roadways during the week of March 28-April 3.

NOTE: In observance of Good Friday, April 3, there will be no contraflow or lane closures unless otherwise permitted.

HIGHWAY 50

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.9 and 8.5 in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and Maha Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. March 29-April 2 for installation of rumble strips on the edges and striping.

HIGHWAY 56/560

LĪHU‘E

  • CENTER LANE CLOSURE in both directions, between mile posts 0.1 and 0.4 in the vicinity of Hardy Street and Ahukini Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. March 29-April 2 for waterline replacement. No left turns will be allowed through the work area.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction, between mile posts 3.7 and 4.5 in the vicinity of Kauaʻi Beach Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. March 31-April 2 for cutting grass.

WAILUĀ

  • FULL CLOSURE in the southbound direction on Wailuā Mauka Bridge, between mile posts 5.7 and 5.9 in the vicinity of Wailuā Marina Road and Kuamoʻo Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. March 30-April 3 for concrete work on the Wailuā Mauka Bridge. Traffic will be routed to the Wailuā Plantation Bridge.

KEĀLIA TO ANAHOLA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 10 and 14 in the vicinity of Cane Haul Road to ʻAliomanu Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 30-April 2 for cutting the grass.

KĪLAUEA TO PRINCEVILLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 23 and 26 in the vicinity of Hoʻokuʻi Road to ʻAnini Vista Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 30-April 2 for cutting the grass.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

  • LANE SHIFT possible in either direction, between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1 in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. March 29-April 3 for striping.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.6 and 2.9 in the vicinity of Aku Road to Mahimahi Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 30-April 2 for work on a future drain line.

HIGHWAY 58

NĀWILIWILI TO PUA LOKE

  • SHOULDER CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 1.6 in the vicinity of Waʻa-pā Road and Pikake Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 30-April 2 for grading the shoulder.

PUA LOKE

  • INTERSECTION PARTIALLY CLOSED at Haleko Road in the northbound direction at mile post 1.8 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. March 31-April 2 for underground survey work for future installation of sewer and waterlines.
  • FULL CLOSURE at Kukui Grove Street in the northbound direction, between mile posts 1.9 and 2, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. March 30-April 1 for sewer line installation. Traffic will be routed to Haleko Road.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.1 and 3.2 in the vicinity of Huakaʻi Road, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 30-April 2 for pavement marker and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 30-April 2 for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAILUĀ TO KAPAʻA

  • COMPLETE CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.8 and 3 in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Olohena Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. March 29-April 3 for paving.
