Hanapēpē Stadium tennis courts to close for six months for improvements, remediation

The Hanapēpē Stadium tennis courts will be temporarily closed for about six months for improvements and remediation work beginning Monday.

The Department of Parks and Recreation will close the Hanapēpē Stadium tennis courts to upgrade them, which includes converting two of the four tennis courts into six dedicated pickleball courts.

The tennis courts will be closed from Monday, March 30, to Wednesday, Sept. 30, weather permitting. The scope of work will include:

  • Replacing wooden light poles with stainless-steel poles
  • Installing new light fixtures
  • Resurfacing and repainting the courts with updated sport striping
  • Replacing tennis posts and nets
  • Installing new pickleball posts and nets
  • Completing fence repairs and adding windscreens
