Kaua‘i police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run in Līhu‘e where a 61-year-old man was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident occurred on March 13. According to a news release from Kaua‘i County, police responded to the incident on Kamalu Road, between ʻŌhe Street and Kuamo‘o Road, at 10:45 a.m., where the man was reportedly struck by a vehicle while on the southbound shoulder.
Preliminary investigation indicates the driver left the scene before first responders arrived. The reported victim was taken to Wilcox Medical Center, where he was treated and later released.
Evidence recovered at the scene indicates that the vehicle involved is a white Chevrolet Silverado, model years 2007–2011. Authorities are seeking information from anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area at the time of the incident.
