Laughter with a purpose: BRAVE Hawaiʻi presents Comedy for a Cause stand-up series
Anti-bullying awareness and youth empowerment nonprofit BRAVE Hawaiʻi invites the public to enjoy some laughter with a purpose during its statewide stand-up comedy series Comedy for a Cause.
The series brings together two of Hawaiʻi’s most recognized local comedians — Augie T and Bula‘ia. These beloved performers will share stories rooted in island life, family and culture in a way that’s clean, relatable and full of aloha.
More than just a night of laughter, however, Comedy for a Cause unites humor and heart to support positive community change through BRAVE Hawaiʻi’s programs for youth and families throughout the state.
“Laughter connects us,” said BRAVE Hawaiʻi founder Mahealani Sims-Tulba in announcing the comedy tour. “When people laugh together, they listen together — and that opens the door for real conversations about respect, kindness and growth.”

BRAVE Hawaiʻi — founded by Mahealani Sims-Tulba — celebrates 13 years this year of uplifting keiki, families and communities statewide. “BRAVE” stands for “Be Respectful And Value Everyone” — a message born from Sims-Tulba’s experience with bullying.
The nonprofit inspires youth through school visits, community outreach and creative expression to choose kindness, set goals and build confidence.
Sims-Tulba is also the author and illustrator of the children’s book “It’s Okay to Be Different,” which continues to raise awareness about bullying and support students throughout Hawaiʻi.
