Tanks project for Kapa‘a Homesteads ongoing until May

Utility and excavation work on a portion of Kawaihau Road has been extended through May.
The work is occurring from Kapuni Road at Kapahi Park to near the Kapahi Road intersection. The work is part of the Kapa’a Homesteads Tanks Project, which is being performed by the Department of Water and its contractor, Hawaiian Dredging Company Inc.
The project entails building two 0.5 million-gallon storage tanks for a total of 1 million gallons, along with storm drain improvements and about 1,700 linear feet of water lines.
A single-lane closure on Kawaihau Road is possible in either direction from 8 am. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays only. Parking is not permitted in the designated work zones.
Residents, pedestrians, and motorists are advised to follow the directions of flaggers and obey posted signs.
