UPDATE: Missing 12-year-old Kaua‘i girl found in California

Update 4:15 p.m. on March 2, 2026: A 12-year-old girl from Kīlauea reported missing on Feb. 27, was located at 2 a.m. (PST) at a residence in Eastvale, Calif.

According to a news release from Kaua‘i County, Zaylynn-Zayda Adric-Belmonte was in good health and has been taken into protective care.

Kaua‘i police detectives tracked leads indicating Zaylynn was in California and coordinated with out-of-state law enforcement and partner agencies to locate her.

Kaua‘i police worked with Hawai‘i Department of the Attorney General (Missing Child Center Hawai‘i), the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the California Highway Patrol, other partner agencies to pinpoint the girl’s whereabouts.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Adric-Belmonte is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, approximately 115 pounds, with brown hair, and brown eyes. Clothing at the time she went missing is unknown.
