Water shutdown scheduled Tuesday night for some areas in Kōloa

The Kauaʻi Department of Water is shutting down overnight water service on a portion of Poʻipū Road, from Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 9 p.m. to Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 5 a.m., weather permitting.

The affected area is Poʻipū Road, from the intersection of Waikomo Road to the address of 3123 Poʻipū Road, as well as Paʻanau Road and Hikina Road.

During the shutdown, Goodfellow Bros. will perform work on the county’s Poʻipū Road Safety and Mobility Project.    

Overnight water shutdown on Feb. 24 9pm for 8 hours.

Customers located in the affected area are advised to prepare for the water service shutdown by taking the following steps: 

  • Store enough water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
  • Notify family, friends, tenants and neighbors about the water service shutdown.
  • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the shutdown. 
  • Businesses are advised to prepare accordingly for the water service disruption.
