The Department of Water will shut down water service on a portion of Poʻipū Road overnight on Tuesday.

A map shows the affected area for the Feb. 24 overnight water service shutdown in Kōloa.

Water will be unavailable from 9 p.m. Feb. 24 to 5 a.m. Feb. 25 on Poʻipū Road from the intersection of Waikomo Road to 3123 Poʻipū Road; and also on Pāʻānau Road and Hīkina Road.

The water service shutdown is scheduled to allow Goodfellow Bros. LLC to perform work on the Poʻipū Road Safety and Mobility Project for Kauaʻi County.

Customers located in the affected area are advised to prepare for the water service shutdown by taking the following steps:

  • Store enough water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
  • Notify family, friends, tenants, and neighbors about the water service shutdown.
  • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the shutdown.
  • Businesses are advised to prepare for the water service disruption.
