19 lane closures scheduled during week of Feb. 15-20 on Kaua‘i state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 19 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Kaua‘i state roadways during the week of Feb. 15-20.

Note: In observance of Presidents’ Day on Feb. 16, there will be no contraflow or lane closures unless otherwise permitted.

HIGHWAY 50

KŌLOA TO ʻŌMAʻO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 6.6 and 8.4 in the vicinity of Maluhia Road and Puneʻe Road, from midnight to 5:30 a.m. Feb. 17 for cutting grass.

ʻŌMAʻO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 8.46 and 9.3 in the vicinity of Puneʻe Road and Piko Road, from midnight to 5:30 a.m. Feb. 19 for trimming grass.

LĀWAʻI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 9.6 and 11.3 in the vicinity of Piko Road and Kōloa Road, from midnight to 5 a.m. Feb. 18 for trimming grass.

HANAPĒPĒ TO MAKAWELI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction, between mile posts 17 and 20.6 in the vicinity of Lele Road and Private Road, from Feb. 17-20 for fire break work.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.1 and 0.7 in the vicinity of Lala Road and Mōkoi Street, from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Feb. 17-20 for asphalt reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

LĪHU‘E

• CENTER LANE CLOSURE in both directions, between mile posts 0.1 and 0.3 in the vicinity of Hardy Street and Poinciana Street, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Feb. 17-20 for waterline replacement. No left turns will be allowed through the work area. DETAILS: Click here.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction, between mile posts 4.2 and 4.9 in the vicinity of Wailuā Golf Course, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. Feb. 17-19 for cutting grass.

WAILUĀ

• FULL CLOSURE in the southbound direction on Wailuā River Mauka Bridge, between mile posts 5.7 and 5.9 in the vicinity of Wailuā Marina Road and Kuamoʻo Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Feb. 17-20 for concrete work on Wailuā River Mauka Bridge. ANAHOLA TO MOLOAʻA

• LANE SHIFT possible in either direction, between mile posts 14 and 16 in the vicinity of ʻAliomanu Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 17-20 for cutting grass.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

• LANE SHIFT possible in either direction, between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1 in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Feb. 15-20 for striping.

PRINCEVILLE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction, between mile posts 1 and 1.1 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ʻŌhiki Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 17-18 for tree trimming.

WAIKOKO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 4.8 in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Beach, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 16 for installation of anchored wire mesh. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 58

PUA LOKE

• INTERSECTION CLOSED at Nāwiliwili Road and Kukui Grove Street in the northbound direction, between mile posts 1.9 and 2, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Feb. 17-20 for underground survey work for future installation of sewer and waterlines. Traffic will be detoured to Haleko Road. DETAILS: Click here.
• RIGHT TURN POCKET CLOSURE in the northbound direction, near mile post 2 in the vicinity of Kaumualiʻi Highway, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Feb. 17-20 for installation of underground utilities.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

• FULL CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.0 and 1.1 in the vicinity of Kaumualiʻi Highway and Panini Place, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Feb. 17-20 for pavement reconstruction.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 17-20 for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 580

WAILUĀ HOMESTEADS

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 4.5 in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and ʻĀina Pono Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 17-20 for cutting the grass.
