Jennie Chahanovich confirmed to serve partial term on Kauaʻi County Fire Commission

Kaua’i Mayor Derek Kawakami on Wednesday nominated and confirmed Jennie Chahanovich to fill a partial term that was vacant on the Kauaiʻ County Fire Commission.

The term runs through Dec. 31, 2028.

The Commission consists of seven at-large members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the County Council to staggered three year terms. There is currently one more vacancy.

The appointment was formally transmitted to the Kauaʻi County Council for confirmation during its weekly county council meeting on Feb. 4.

Chahanovich is the president and CEO at Wilcox Medical Center in Līhuʻe and previously served as the CEO at Pali Momi Medical Center on Oʻahu.

The Fire Commission oversees the Kauaʻi Fire Department, including matters related to personnel, discipline and departmental operations.
