Grove Farms sells 260 acres in Līhuʻe to Hawaiian Home Lands for housing

Grove Farm announced the sale of about 260 acres of land in Līhu‘e, mauka of Isenberg Park, to the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands.
The property lies within Kaua‘i County’s General Plan area designated for future residential development and is near Wilcox Medical Center and Līhu‘e’s urban core.
The sale price was not immediately available.
The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands plans to develop approximately 1,100 homesteads on the site for beneficiaries, including a mix of single-family and agricultural communities.
David Hinazumi, Grove Farm’s senior vice president, provided a statement in the farm’s newsletter, saying: “The sale is in alignment with Grove Farm’s mission to support local homeownership, and we are honored to have partnered with DHHL.”
The project is expected to help address Kaua‘i’s ongoing housing shortage.
