UPDATE: Emergency lane closures scheduled until 4 p.m. today near Kapaʻa Elementary School

Original post: Emergency lane closures and intermittent road closures are scheduled near Kapaʻa Elementary School from 8 a.m. to noon on Feb. 6.

The Department of Public Works is closing a portion of Kawaihau Road between Nunu Road and Mailihuna Road to allow Hawaiian Telcom to replace a damaged utility pole.

Motorists are asked to make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closure, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to reach destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.
