Join Surfrider Kauaʻi for a community water quality event focused on understanding harmful pollution affecting Kauaʻi’s coastal waters and how community-led efforts are turning data into solutions.

Community Science for Clean Coastal Water is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at Church of the Pacific in Princeville.

The evening will include a short informational presentation about Surfrider’s Blue Water Task Force followed by a community talk story and time to connect with partner organizations.

Representatives from Wastewater Alternatives and Innovation, Hanalei Initiative and Reef Guardians Hawaiʻi Nā Kiaʻi Āpapa will share how their on-the-ground work uses data to inform action and protect clean water.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Clean water is the foundation of community well-being. Pollution threatens public health and safe recreation, while also degrading reefs, fisheries and cultural practices that depend on healthy coastal ecosystems.
