$25,000 grant available for nonprofit art, culture programs supporting Hawaiʻi veterans

The Hawaiʻi State Foundation on Culture and the Arts will be granting $25,000 to a qualifying organization for arts or culture related programs supporting Hawaiʻi veterans.

It is a federally funded program in celebration of America250, the United States of America’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

The National Endowment for the Arts allocated funding to state arts agencies nationwide to support arts projects celebrating the nation’s artistic heritage and creativity.

Applications are open until Friday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m.

The grant is open to nonprofit veteran and military service organizations, community service organizations, cultural organizations and arts organizations incorporated in the State of Hawaiʻi.

Apply at https://hiepro.ehawaii.gov/sav-search.html. In the solicitation # box, enter P26001370 and click search. You may need to be logged in to HIePro to view the solicitation.

All project activities must be implemented in the State of Hawaiʻi. Proposals can include activities that honor veterans or improve the health and well-being of military and veteran communities.

Examples of possible projects are arts and healing programs, visual arts, StoryCorps, spoken word, film, exhibition, performance, historical/heritage interpretations and living history projects.
