Surf heights are expected to rise this afternoon, peaking overnight. North-facing shores could see waves of 15 to 20 feet, while west-facing shores may experience surf of 10 to 15 feet.

The National Weather Service said the swell will generate strong breaking waves and powerful currents, creating dangerous conditions for swimmers and ocean users. Officials described the expected impacts as moderate but cautioned that conditions could change quickly.

Ocean safety officials urge the public to follow all posted warnings and guidance.

Beachgoers are advised to stay out of the water if conditions appear unsafe and to use extra caution along exposed shorelines during the advisory period.
