Walmart Wellness Event to offer free health services in Līhuʻe

Walmart is scheduled to host a free nationwide health and wellness event on Saturday, Jan. 24, offering no-cost screenings, immunizations and wellness resources at stores across Hawaiʻi, including the Līhuʻe location at 3-3300 Kuhio Highway on Kauaʻi.
The Wellness Event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all nine Walmart stores statewide. The event is open to the public, and no registration is required; walk-ins are welcome.
“With convenient, trusted care and everyday wellness solutions, we’re committed to meeting people where they are and supporting their health goals in practical, affordable ways,” said Kevin Host, senior vice president of pharmacy at Walmart, in a press release.
During the event, Walmart pharmacists, vision specialists and wellness staff will provide a range of free services aimed at increasing access to basic health care, particularly in communities where options may be limited.
Available services will include free health screenings, such as blood pressure checks and body mass index measurements, along with complimentary vision screenings.
Walmart also will offer no-cost flu shots, which are covered by most major insurance plans, as well as low-cost immunizations for illnesses including RSV, shingles, tetanus and HPV. Pharmacists will be on hand to offer personalized guidance on medications, nutrition and general wellness, helping customers make informed health decisions in a single visit.
Participants also may receive curated wellness sample boxes containing items such as nutritious snacks, vitamins and supplements, while supplies last.
Walmart said the annual event is designed to promote preventive care and encourage individuals to prioritize their health at the start of the year. The company has hosted similar wellness events since 2014, providing more than 5 million free health screenings nationwide.
“A fresh year brings fresh motivation, and The Wellness Event is our way of helping customers turn that motivation into meaningful action,” Host said.
Residents seeking additional information are encouraged to contact their local Walmart store directly or visit the company’s website for details.
