Motorists in Līhu‘e can expect daytime traffic delays next week as single-lane closures are scheduled on Pikake Street and Nuhou Street for geotechnical work, county officials said.

The Department of Public Works, in coordination with Kōkua Geotech LLC, said the lane restrictions will be in place from Jan. 20 through Jan. 23, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The closures are needed to conduct subsurface investigations in the area.

Drivers are advised to plan ahead, consider alternate routes, and allow extra travel time while work is underway. Traffic flaggers will be stationed at the work zones to help guide vehicles safely through the affected areas.

Officials said the work schedule may change depending on weather or field conditions.
