About 150 professional and amateur competitors from throughout the United States and around world are expected to participate at Anaina Hou’s tournament quality, custom-designed mini golf course, bringing with them hundreds of on-site spectators and a national online audience.

The tournament is expected to generate significant visitor spending and media visibility for Kaua‘i’s North Shore while reinvesting proceeds directly back into nonprofit Anaina Hou and community programs.

“We’re proud to host this event for what it brings back to the community,” said Anaina Hou Community Park Chief Executive Officer Ben Karon in an announcement about the tournament. “The U.S. Open Mini Golf Championship puts Kaua‘i on a national stage while directly supporting youth programming and the future of Anaina Hou.”

The weekend will include a Pro-Am tournament, the U.S. Open Championship main event initial rounds and finish with the final rounds and awards ceremony and closing celebration.

In addition to elite-level competition, the event will also feature community engagement opportunities designed to welcome local families and visitors alike.

It is projected to generate about $1 million in visitor spending, according to industry benchmarks, helping bridge the shoulder season between winter holidays and the summer tourism uptick.

Lodging, dining, transportation and local experiences are expected to benefit islandwide.

Proceeds from the U.S. Open Mini Golf Championship will directly support Anaina Hou’s mission driven youth programs, community critical free services and the preservation of its mini golf course as a living native plant and seed bank, reinforcing the park’s mission to blend recreation, culture, education and environmental stewardship.
