Premium headwear brand melin — known for innovative design and craftsmanship — opened a new location Dec. 19 at The Shops at Kukui‘ula in Poʻipū.

This marks melin’s eighth location nationwide and third in Hawai‘i.

Its location at The Shops at Kukui‘ula is melin’s first on Kaua‘i and will serve as a customer experience lab, offering visitors full brand immersion.

Kaua‘i’s store draws inspiration from the island’s natural beauty, history and culture.

Designed as a gallery-style space, the store showcases melin hats as functional works of art while incorporating meaningful cultural elements, including handcrafted alaia boards displayed throughout the store and a traditional one-man canoe at the center of the space.

Each element reflects stories of place, craftsmanship and Hawai‘i’s deep connection to the ocean.

The Shops at Kukui‘ula location also features Hawai‘i-exclusive melin hats, available only for in-store purchase.

“We’ve always envisioned having a customer experience lab on each island, and The Shops at Kukui‘ula offered the right mix of setting, co-tenancy and atmosphere,” said melin co-founder and President Brian McDonell in an announcement about the new location. “It’s a place where people can slow down, enjoy the moment and experience the brand in a way that feels authentic to Kaua‘i.”

The new melin location at The Shops at Kukui‘ula is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
