A large, long-period northwest swell will swiftly build into the islands today (Jan. 10), producing surf heights above advisory levels through Sunday.

Large breaking waves of 15 to 20 feet are forecast for north shorelines, while west shorelines are expected to see large breaking waves of 10 to 15 feet.

Strong breaking waves and strong currents along the shores in the advisory areas will make swimming dangerous.
