15 lane closures scheduled during week of Jan. 10-16 on Kaua‘i state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 15 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Kaua‘i state roadways during the week of Jan. 10-16.

HIGHWAY 50

PUA LOKE

• SIDEWALK CLOSED in the northbound direction, between mile posts 0.4 and 0.5 in the vicinity of Uahi Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 12-13 for working on the sewer main.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction, between mile posts 0.5 and 0.6 in the vicinity of Uahi Road and Nāwiliwili Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Jan. 15-16 for working on the sewer main. Traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KĪPŪ

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.9 and 8.4 in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and Puneʻe Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Jan. 11-15 for rumble strip and striping work. Traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 0.8 in the vicinity of Waʻa-pā Road and Kapule Highway, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 12-16 for sidewalk, curbing, median and ramp work. Traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAYS 56/560

LĪHU‘E

• CENTER LANE CLOSURE in both directions, between mile posts 0.1 and 0.3 in the vicinity of Hardy Street and Poinciana Street, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Jan. 11-15 for waterline replacement. No left turns will be allowed through the work area. Click here for more details.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction, between mile posts 3.7 and 4.8 in the vicinity of Kauaʻi Beach Road and Leho Drive, from 1 to 6 a.m. Jan. 10 for cleaning and maintaining guardrails fronting Kauaʻi Community Correctional Center and Wailuā Golf Course.

WAILUĀ

• FULL CLOSURE in the southbound direction on Wailuā mauka bridge, between mile posts 5.7 and 5.9 in the vicinity of Wailuā State Park Road and Kuamoʻo Road nightly, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Jan. 12-16 for concrete work on the Wailuā mauka bridge. KAPAʻA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 8.0 and 9.5 in the vicinity of ʻAkia Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 12-16 for concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KĪLAUEA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 23.3 and 23.6 in the vicinity of Kalamania Road and Kalihiwai Road, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Jan. 12-16 for installing a traffic counting station.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

• LANE SHIFT possible in either direction, between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1 in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Jan. 12-16 for striping.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between miles post 1.2 and 2.4 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ʻŌhiki Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 12-16 for guardrail work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HANALEI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1.2 and 2.4 in the vicinity of ʻŌhiki Road and Papio Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 12-16 for guardrail work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 4.8 in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Beach, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 12-16 for soil nail drilling, grouting and concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

• FULL CLOSURE, between mile posts 1.1 and 6.7 in the vicinity of Pānini Place and Kōkeʻe Road, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 12-16 for pavement reconstruction and resurfacing. Traffic will be detoured to Kōkeʻe Road. Click here for more details.

WAILUĀ HOMESTEADS

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction, between mile posts 4.8 and 5.6 in the vicinity of Reservoir Dam Road, from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 10 for cleaning roadside debris.
