Alexander & Baldwin — a Hawai‘i-based company focused on owning, operating and developing high-quality commercial real estate — continued its longstanding commitment to Kaua‘i families this holiday season through festive fundraising initiatives at The Shops at Kukui‘ula in Poʻipū.

Contributions from the community and the real estate firm reached a total of $16,000 this holiday season.

The following efforts supported local education, food help and human services:

  • Community members were invited to take pictures with Santa in exchange for canned goods or cash donations to support Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank. More than 200 pounds of food and $4,250 in cash donations were collected. Alexander & Baldwin contributed an additional cash donation of $2,500 for a total of nearly $7,000 to help provide meals and resources to local families in need.
  • Students from Kōloa Elementary School hand-painted festive holiday bags and offered gift-wrapping services for shoppers. This annual tradition raised $4,200 — including a $1,000 donation from Alexander & Baldwin — to support student programs at the neighboring school.
  • Alexander & Baldwin’s year-end donation of $5,000 to Kaua‘i United Way — an organization the real estate firm has partnered with since 1983 — helped fund critical programs that serve families around the island.

“Partnering with these nonprofits to lift our community is central to who we are and how we operate our business,” said Alexander & Baldwin Regional Manager Stacie Chiba-Miguel in a release about the fundraising success. “Alexander & Baldwin’s support of these organizations spans more than four decades and reflects our commitment to helping our neighbors across Kaua‘i thrive.”
