Update 11 a.m. on Jan. 6: Tyson Hawelu has been located and is in good health. The Kaua‘i Police Department thanks the public for their assistance.

Original post: The Kaua‘i Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing man from ‘Ele‘ele.

Last known contact with Tyson Hawelu, 38, was reported on Jan. 4. He is 5 feet 6 inches tall, approximately 170 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Hawelu is known to frequent the ‘Ele‘ele area and may be operating a silver 2020 Toyota Tacoma with Nevada license plates.
