Central Pacific Bank has been named to Newsweek’s list of “America’s Best Regional Banks & Credit Unions” for 2026, marking the fifth consecutive year the Hawaii-based bank has earned the recognition.

The annual rankings, compiled by Newsweek in partnership with Plant-A Insights Group, evaluated about 8,800 financial institutions nationwide.

“We are humbled to be recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s best regional banks,” said Arnold Martines, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Central Pacific Bank.

The assessment was based on an analysis of more than 140,000 customer surveys, 2.3 million social media reviews and 80 million mobile app reviews, focusing on overall performance, customer service and financial resources.

Martines credited the bank’s employees, customers, and community ties as central to its success and said the institution remains committed to improving customer experience and community value.

Newsweek Editor-in-Chief Jennifer H. Cunningham said local and regional banks play a critical role beyond financial services, acting as community partners that support neighborhoods and local initiatives.
