Update: Flood advisory canceled for Kaua‘i

Update 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 19, 2025: A flood advisory issued for Kaua‘i is canceled.

Radar shows that the heavy rain has diminished. Flooding is no longer expected to pose
a threat.

Original post: A flood advisory is in effect for leeward portions of Kaua‘i till 11:30 a.m.

At 8:26 a.m., radar indicated heavy rain over Leeward Kaua‘i. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 3 inches per hour. Some locations that will experience flooding include Kekaha, Waimea, Hanapēpē, Mana, Barking Sands, North Fork Wailua Trails, Waimea Canyon State Park, Pakala Village and Kaumakani.

Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams is anticipated.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 11:30 a.m. if flooding persists.
