Hawai‘i State Federal Credit Union is now accepting applications for its 2026–27 scholarship program.

The program aims to award 20 Hawai‘i students each up to $5,000 — a total of up to $100,000 in grant funding — to support their enrollment at an accredited university, college or trade/vocational school during the upcoming academic year.

“Education has a measurable impact on a person’s financial stability over the course of their life,” said Hawai‘i State Federal Credit Union President and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Rosen in announcing the application period. “By providing targeted financial support, our scholarship program helps students reduce the burden of rising education costs and stay on track to complete their degrees.”

The Hawai‘i State Federal Credit Union Scholarship Program — established in 1996 — has provided a total of more than $1 million throughout the past 29 years to help Hawai‘i students pursue higher education.

Scholarships are open to credit union members and their dependents. The funds support students who demonstrate financial need and are committed to continuing their education during the 2026–27 school year.

“It is a direct and meaningful way for us to support our members and strengthen our community,” Rosen said about the program.

Eligibility requires that applicants:

  • Must attend a fully accredited university, college or trade/vocational school during the 2026-27 school year.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Must attend as a full- or part-time student.
  • Apply as an undergraduate or graduate degree-seeking student.
  • Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade-point average.
