An overnight water shutdown is scheduled in Kōloa for a portion of Poʻipū Road.

The Kaua‘i County Department of Water will shut down on a portion of Poʻipū Road from 9 p.m. on Tuesday to 5 a.m. on Wednesday to allow contractor Goodfellow Bros. LLC to perform work on the Poʻipū Road Safety and Mobility Project for the county.

The road will be closed from the intersection of Waikomo Road to 3123 Poʻipū Rd. Customers located in the affected area are advised to prepare for the water service shutdown by taking the following steps:

  • Store enough water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
  • Notify family, friends, tenants and neighbors about the water service shutdown.
  • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the shutdown.
  • Businesses are advised to prepare accordingly for the water service disruption.

For more information or questions, contact Christian Redongo of Goodfellow Bros. LLC at 808-268-1966 or Scott Suga of the Department of Water at 808-245-5411.
