Annual holiday parade in Waimea to showcase holiday spirit
The 25th annual Waimea Light Parade will illuminate the roads of Waimea in celebration of the holidays this Saturday.

The parade will start at Waimea Canyon Middle School parking lot, proceed down Huakaʻi Road, continue along Waimea Canyon Drive to Kaumuali‘i Highway, and end at the Ala Wai Road intersection.
To ensure safety for participants and spectators, the Kaua‘i Police Department will close all streets along the parade route from 5 p.m. to approximately 8:15 p.m. or until the parade concludes. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and expect delays.
No parking will be allowed along the parade route starting at 5 p.m. on Dec. 20. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destinations as traffic delays are expected.
The bus routes will change, including:
- Kaua‘i Bus Route 200: Departs from Līhuʻe at 3:25 p.m., 4:25 p.m., 5:25 p.m., 6:25 p.m., and 7:25 p.m., and will end in Waimea at the Pā‘ula‘ula State Historic Site.
- Kaua‘i Bus Route 100: Starts in Waimea at the Pā‘ula‘ula State Historic Site at 5:15 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 7:15 p.m., 8:15 p.m., and 9:15 p.m., due to the road closures.
- Route 100: The last bus will leave Kekaha at 4:15 p.m.
