Update 7:44 a.m. Dec. 15, 2025: A flash flood watch for Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau was extended through 6 a.m. Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Honolulu, a trough stalled over the western Hawaiian Islands today will continue to draw up more moisture-rich southern latitude
moisture across the islands of Kaua‘i, Ni‘ihau and O‘ahu.
Rain of between 1 to 4 inches on Sunday has saturated the ground and caused more swollen streams, meaning it will not take much rain to exacerbate minor flooding concerns today.

Showers may become locally heavy at times with the slight chance for thunderstorms.
