Hawai‘i State Federal Credit Union supports critical services at risk of funding shortfalls
Hawai‘i State Federal Credit Union announced this week that it will donate a total of $50,000 to funds at Hawai‘i Community Foundation and Aloha United Way as part of the “Aloha for Hawai‘i” giving campaign.

It is part of a statewide effort to support nonprofit organizations that offer critical services and face significant federal funding reductions and delays.
“Hawai‘i’s nonprofits are the backbone of so many essential services, and this is a moment when they need the community to stand with them,” said Hawai‘i State Federal Credit Union President and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Rosen in an announcement about the credit union’s donations. “We are proud to support both the Hawai‘i Community Foundation and Aloha United Way as they work to protect the programs that so many families rely on.”
Nonprofits throughout the state are working through delayed or reduced access to more than $97 million in federal funding, with an additional $300 million at risk.
This shortfall could affect access to essential services — including food assistance, housing support, health care and other programs — upon which many Hawai‘i residents rely.
Hawai‘i State Federal Credit Union’s donation will be split evenly, providing $25,000 to Hawai‘i Community Foundation’s Hawai‘i Resilience Fund and $25,000 to Aloha United Way’s Safety Net Fund.
“We encourage other organizations, if they are able, to join us in contributing to this effort so that resources continue flowing to those who need them most,” Rosen said.
