14 lane closures scheduled during week of Dec. 6-12 on Kaua‘i state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 14 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Kaua‘i state roadways during the week of Dec. 6-12.

HIGHWAY 50

KĪPŪ

  • LANE SHIFT possible in either direction, between mile posts 3.3 and 3.7, in the vicinity of Haul Cane Road near the Humane Society, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 6 for emergency guardrail repair. Watch for workers on the side of the road.

LĀWAʻI

  • MEDIAN CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 9.9 and 10.3, in the vicinity of Akemāmā Road and Kōloa Road, on Monday, December 8 to Friday, December 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of new yellow reflectors.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 0.8, in the vicinity of Waʻa-pā Road and Rice Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for concrete sidewalk, medians, ramp and curb work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KAPA‘IA TO HANAMĀʻULU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1.1 and 1.6, in the vicinity of Ma‘alo Road to Laulima Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 8-18 for cutting grass.

KAPAʻA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 8 and 9.5, in the vicinity of ʻAkia Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1, in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for striping.

PRINCEVILLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 27 and 28, in the vicinity of Ka Haku Road, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for cutting grass.

HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.8 and 3.3, in the vicinity of Cin Tai Wai Road and ʻAnae Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 4.8, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Beach, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for soil nail drilling, grouting and installation of anchored mesh. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1.2 and 5.5, in the vicinity of Panini Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for pavement reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 4.6 and 11.5, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 9 and 11, from 6 a.m. to noon Dec. 6 for tree trimming.

HIGHWAY 580

KAPA‘IA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 4.5, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and ʻĀina Pono Street, from 4 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. Dec. 6 for cutting grass.

HIGHWAY 583

KAPA‘IA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 3 and 3.6, from 4 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 6 for cutting grass.
