No injuries reported following fire at mini mart on Kaua‘i
No injuries were reported after a fire ignited in the attic of a business in Kekaha.
On Sunday, the Kaua‘i Fire Department received the report of a structure fire at the Thrifty Mini Mart shortly after 7:45 p.m.

When firefighters arrived on scene shortly after 7:50 p.m., they discovered smoke coming from the structure’s roof, according to a preliminary report from Kaua‘i County. Crews initiated an offensive fire attack, located the fire, and extinguished it.
The fire was confined to the attic area of the structure.
One individual requested medical evaluation by AMR personnel for faintness, but was not transported to the hospital.
Personnel with the Waimea, Hanapēpē, and Kalāheo fire stations, the Fire Prevention Bureau, and the on-duty Battalion Chief responded to the incident. Firefighters cleared the scene shortly before 12:30 a.m.
KFD Fire Prevention Bureau investigators took over the scene to conduct their investigation, which is ongoing.
Damages to the structure and contents are estimated at $308,000.
