Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i hosts festive Thanksgiving buffet, annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort & Spa in Kōloa invites everyone to a truly extravagant Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 27) dining experience and urges them to return Friday (Nov. 28) as holiday festivities continue with its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Ilima Terrace restaurant — which offers stunning waterfront views — will provide a Turkey Day buffet feast from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Guests will enjoy a robust menu including holiday favorites such as prime rib and turkey complemented by side dishes of roasted garlic mashed potatoes, stuffing, baked green bean casserole and baked yams with marshmallows.

Additional buffet options will include gourmet salads, charcuterie selections, a sushi station and dim sum station with mini pork bao, chicken pot stickers and shrimp shumai.

A special keiki Thanksgiving buffet will include chicken tenders, Tater Tots, grilled cheese and macaroni and cheese.

Don’t forget about dessert either. A variety of made-from-scratch desserts including pumpkin and pecan pie, mango crunch bars, pumpkin spice crème brulee, chai tea panna cotta and more.

Cost for adults is $129, with keiki feasting for $64.50. Reservations are required and can be made on OpenTable.

Those celebrating at home or in the comfort of their guestroom can enjoy a chef-prepared Thanksgiving take-out feast designed to serve up to four people, including turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, yams, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and pumpkin pie.

The take-out holiday meal is $119. Reservations are required and can be made here.

Tree lighting festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. Friday, with a Kaua‘i artisans and crafters showcase, cookie decorating for families and an appearance from Santa Claus as he roves throughout the resort to meet and take photos with guests.

St. Nick will then join the resort team at 6:30 p.m. to light the giant palm trees at the property’s entrance.

Guests will also enjoy live music, hot cocoa and cider as well as other festive activities throughout the evening.

The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is free and open to the public.
