Intermittent road closures in Lāwa‘i are scheduled next week to remove a large Albizia Tree.

The closures will take place along portions of Wawae Road from Oct. 20 to Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting. Intermittent 15- to 30-minute full road closures will occur throughout the workday, according to a news release from Kaua‘i County.

Motorists are advised to make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary lane closures, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.

The county’s Department of Public Works is contracting with Earthworks Pacific to remove the tree.
