Meadow Gold recalls half-pint chocolate milk sent to schools on several islands, including Kaua‘i
Hawai‘i Department of Health alerts the public of a voluntary recall issued by Meadow Gold Dairy for half-pint chocolate milks marked with an Oct. 16 expiration date, some of which were sent to several schools on Kaua‘i.

The chocolate milk — made and packaged outside the state — is being recalled because of potential quality control issues.
About 70,000 units of the half-pint chocolate milks were primarily distributed at schools on O‘ahu, Maui and Kaua‘i since they were received Sept. 29 in Hawai‘i.
Kaua‘i schools that received the recalled chocolate milk are:
- ʻEleʻele Elementary School.
- Kekaha Elementary School.
- King Kaumualiʻi Elementary School.
- Waimea High School.
- Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School.
- Kapaʻa Elementary School.
- Kapaʻa Middle School.
- Kapaʻa High School.
- Kauaʻi High School.
- Kōloa Elementary School.
- Elsie H. Wilcox Elementary School.
Meadow Gold is in the process of contacting all establishments that received the recalled chocolate milk.
The recall applies only to Meadow Gold brand chocolate milk marked “OCT 16” on the top of the single serving containers.
Do not consume chocolate milk that looks, smells or tastes unusual.
