In case you missed it: Hanapēpē Bridge closure extended through early 2026
Kaua‘i County Public Works and contractor Kiewit West Infrastructure Co. recently announced that the closure of Hanapēpē Bridge on Hanapēpē Road is extended through early 2026.

The extension is because of delays in constructing the waterline and obtaining additional federal funding for unanticipated additional repair work.
Work will continue; however, the bridge will remain closed at all times.
Officials thank the community for their understanding and patience.
Motorists are advised to make appropriate arrangements, follow detour signs, drive with caution and allow for extra time to get to destinations.
Project dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.
